The season’s first tomatoes should show up at the Groton Farmers Market today

This year’s late, slow, spring has pushed the growing season back a bit, Groton Farmers Market spokesman Leo Wyatt reports.

“Tomatoes are coming late this year but this week we will see some. And Groton Local has a table for collecting items/donations for the local food banks too,” he wrote in an email.

The Market Musician for today, August 1, is Sarah Durkin, who will perform from about 4-6 p.m.

Zoll Cellars Winery is the featured vendor, presenting a collection of red wines made in Shrewsbury.

The Groton Farmers Market runs from 3-7 p.m. on Friday afternoons through the summer at the Williams Barn, 160 Chicopee Row in Groton.
