Farmers Market opens for the season on Fri’14 day, July 11

The Groton Farmers Market opens for the season this afternoon, July 11, with a great selection of fresh regional produce, meats, and prepared foods, all set to live music (Kenny Selcer provides the opening session of music to shop and eat by).

New this year are Judy Nevius from Chelmsford, who’s J.N. Pottery specializes in handcrafted kitchen ware; Laura Weinstein from Maynard, who will bring her Cookie Lady Treats; Garrett Campanella from Pepperell’s Home Grown Mushroom Company; and Lior Sadeh from Wilton New Hampshire’s Bee Fields Farm with teas made from local herbs. Staples of the Farmers Market return too — you can find breads, jams, lobster rolls, bagels, eggs, candy, local-meats, wine, vegetables, pasta and sauce, fruit, honey, and books.

The Farmers Market is in the field behind the Williams Barn at 160 Chicopee Row, and is open every Friday, 3-7 p.m. through the first week in October.
