The Touch-A-Truck date has been changed to June 21 because of a rainy forecast on the original date.

OK, ask any kid (lots of grown-ups too), and they’ll tell you there’s just something about trucks that’s fun. Especially fire trucks. Especially if you’re playing on them. And you can do that this Saturday, even if you don’t have a kid to bring, and have the option of getting your car washed while you’re playing.

Engine and Hose Company 1 Association of the Groton Fire Department is hosting a special Touch-a-Truck and carwash as a fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 14 21 at the Central Fire station on Station Avenue. Organizers promise, “We will have firetrucks, an ambulance, and other big trucks to see. There will be Groton Fire T-shirts for sale. Bring the family and get your car washed. Donations for the wash are appreciated.”

This is one of the last public events at the current Center Fire Station before the engines move to the new fire station.
