Gardening programs, Lyme Awareness, Teen Cooking Class, and more are planned at the Groton Public Library over the next few weeks.

Gardening Get Together: Monarch Butterfly Waystations, Tuesday, May 13, 7-8 p.m. Guest speaker Carol Satlak, a volunteer with MonarchWatch, will talk about helping save the monarch migration one butterfly at a time.

A Tour of Groton Resident Roger Temple’s Garden, Wed, May 14, 10 a.m. — noon (Raindate Wed, May 21). Learn about planting techniques, precautionary measures, and time and labor saving ideas. Registration is required. Once you register, we will give you further information.

Art Gallery Reception: “FUTURE” by the G-DRHS Art Club, Tues, May 20, 6:30-8 p.m. The exhibit will be displayed through May 31.

Lyme disease Awareness Program, Tues, June 3, 7-8:30 p.m. The public is invited to a panel discussion on Lyme disease by three practitioners from Groton Wellness: Grace Ramsey Coolidge, Licensed Mental Health Counselor; Kenyon Kelly, Herbalist; and Joshua Lloyd, Naturopathic Doctor. Free and open to all.

An Introduction to Bee Keeping by John Kelly, Tuesday, June 10, 7-8:30 p.m. Learn about the basics: from hive to honey! Registration requested, but not required.

Young Adult Programs:
Magic the Gathering Club,* Wednesdays, May 21 & June 4, 3-5 pm. Bring your friends and enjoy the game, prizes, and refreshments. Grades 6-12.

Teen Cooking Class for Grades 6-12, Wed, May 21, 6-7:30 p.m. Cookbook author and nutritionist Anna Tourkakis leads a hands-on cooking class where teens create and sample a tasty 3-course meal. Please sign up!

Hot Books, Hot Chocolate! Book Group, Thurs, June 5, 7-8 p.m. The Young Adult Librarian will talk about the upcoming summer reading program and share ideas about next year’s book group. Open to all in grades 6-8 (and those going into grade 6).

YA Anime Club, Wed, June 11, 7-8:30 p.m. Animé and manga fans watch episodes of their favorite animé shows. Drawing supplies will be provided if you like to sketch. Light refreshments. Grades 6-12.

Read to Roly or Huggs, Wednesdays, 4-5 p.m. These certified therapy dogs love children, books, and reading. Sign your child up for one 15-minute session with Roly or Huggs.
