The Groton Lions will hold their 38th annual Mother’s Day plant sale Saturday morning, May 10th, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Prescott School building on Main Street in Groton. The special feature of the sale is hanging plants for Mother’s Day, but there are many other items for sale, including: annuals, vegetables, perennials, herbs and herb baskets, railing planters with annuals or herbs, geraniums, bluebird houses, fertilizer, compost, potting soil, seed potatoes, birdseed, lilies, ground cover, seed packets, and onion sets.
You can also take advantage of our planting tips — our members have years of local garden knowledge to share for a good cause.
The Groton Lions have 36 years of giving back to our community. One of the ways we do this is by honoring graduating GDRS seniors by giving annual scholarships to ease the transition from high school. The plant sale raises funds for scholarships.
The club also collects used eyeglasses at the sale, to help its vision programs.
