The 23rd Annual Groton Road Race will put upward of 2,000 runners pounding the pavement in Groton this Sunday.
Registration for any of the races, from the Tots’ Trot (for toddlers up to 6 years), 2K, 5K, and 10K, is open online until 6 p.m. Friday, April 25. People may also register in person at race headquarters, the Groton-Dunstable Regional Middle School, on Saturday from 10 a.m. — 1 p.m., and after 9 a.m. on Sunday, race day.
The Tots Trot starts at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, and the other race times are 11:15 a.m. — 2K; 11:50 a.m. — 5K; and 1 p.m. — 10K. There are cash prizes for the 5K and 10K, age group winners, master’s winners, and fastest Groton residents in the 5K and 10K races, awarded by the Squannacook River Runners, the race organizers.
