He was born in Groton on October 16, 1925 son of the late George E. and Hattie Wright Bissett. He was the husband of the late Priscilla Marriott Bissett who died in 1994.
Bob was a graduate of Groton High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, stationed in Washington DC. He was married in 1948 and made his home in Groton for most of his life before moving to New Hampshire nine years ago. Bissett worked as a carpenter for most of his life and loved boating on Lost Lake in Groton.
His survivors include his daughters Wendy Brunson of Florida, Laura Manley of Groton, and Jill Walker of Groton; his companion, Mary Lawrence, of Marlow New Hampshire; five grandchildren: Todd Brunson, Trevor Brunson. Jonathan Manley, Erin Morrill, and Jesse Walker; and four great grandchildren: Jacob Morrill, Hailey Morrill, Leah Manley, and Stella Manley.
A memorial will be held at 43 Willowdale Road, Groton, Massachusetts, on April 12 at 2 p.m.Related
