The G-DRHS Art Club is hosting its 2nd annual Art and Craft Fair to celebrate the 2013 holiday season this Saturday, December 14 (Snow date is Sunday, Dec. 15) from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the high school, 703 Chicopee Row, in Groton, MA.
According to a press release from the club:
We have invited artists and artisans working in all media to participate. Last year was a great success and we anticipate this year to be even better! We have something for everyone at this fair including: fine art and creative gifts, raffles, food, pottery wheel trials, art activities, a student art exhibit, live music, and more! The G-DRHS Art Club is really excited about showcasing their “Miniature Masterpieces” which are tiny paintings based on famous art works as well as their ceramic handmade ornaments.
This is our second year sponsoring the fair in an effort to promote the arts in the community and to raise money for the club and art scholarships. This is an event where faculty, parents, students and the larger community of artists come together. We are delighted that this year Mr. Tyler will return to help promote the Oaxaca – Arte Mexicano program. The G-DRHS Women’s History Month Committee will also participate by selling inspirational cards and baked goods. Fair participants will have works available in a variety of media including: paint, collage, photography, ceramics, mixed media, metals, jewelry, wood and more! We also have returning student musicians and artists from the community along with some new faces!
This is a fundraiser event for Art Scholarships for G-DRHS students. We seek to promote and build the arts community in the greater Groton-Dunstable region to benefit both arts professionals and for the cultural benefit of our schools and communities.
