Nashua, NH – Peacock Players, New Hampshire’s premiere award winning youth theater, is proud to present the Broadway smash hit Shrek the Musical, in Nahua, NH, for two weekends only, November 15-24, 2013.

Shrek the Musical tells the story of a swamp-dwelling ogre who goes on a life-changing adventure to reclaim the deed to his land. Joined by a wisecracking donkey, this unlikely hero fights a fearsome dragon, rescues a feisty princess and learns that real friendship and true love aren’t only to be found in fairy tales.

The cast features Megan Fitzpatrick, of Groton, who plays dual roles as Teen Fiona and one of the Three Blind Mice. The select ensemble includes some of northern Massachusetts and New Hampshire’s most recognized and awarded young theater performers.

“We are so excited to introduce Shrek the Musical to our students and audiences because it is such an entertaining musical,” director and Peacock Players Artistic Director Keith Weirich said. “Full of all-new songs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery, Shrek the Musical is part romance, part twisted fairy tale, and all irreverent fun! It is one of those rare musical masterpieces that provides the perfect entertainment – an ingenious blend of laughter, simplicity and sophistication. It’s not merely funny, it’s wise.”

Shrek the Musical is the second production in Peacock Players 38th Annual Mainstage season. Peacock Players will next present the family holiday tradition The Peacock Players Christmas Spectacular in December.
