October is pie and supper time at the Christian Union Church in West Groton. On Saturday, October 19th and October 26th, the Ladies Aid of the church will hold their annual pie sale from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. each day. Freshly baked apple, mince, blueberry, pumpkin, and plum pies will be available, and there could also be lemon meringue and peanut butter, according to church spokesperson Carole Clark. There are also frozen apple pies, either baked or unbaked, available to take home and prepare when you wish.
Pies will also be sold at the church’s Harvest Supper on Oct. 19th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., but there’s much more. The supper menu will be a complete turkey dinner with all the fixings and apple crisp for dessert. The supper is served family style, with continuous serving all evening. No reservations are needed and take outs are available.
The church is located at 37 West Main St. (State Route 225) in West Groton, diagonally across from the fire station. For more information, call 978 448-5480.
