Three-car accident on Main Street caused minor injuries Tuesday

A three-car crash just after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning snarled Groton center traffic on Main Street for most of the morning and sent three people to Nashoba Valley Medical Center with “what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries,” according to Groton Police Chief Donald Palma.

Bystanders reported that one vehicle apparently went left of center on the section of road near Moison’s Hardware store and hit a car coming in the oncoming direction; that collision involved a third vehicle.

The Groton Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene in addition to the Police Department and transported the drivers to NVMC.

The cause and details of the accident remain under investigation by the Groton Police Department, Palma wrote in a press release.
