Olive Fletcher Lawrence

Olive Fletcher Lawrence, 98, died at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer on March 8, 2013. She was born in Ayer, MA on October 14, 1914, daughter of the late Howard and Beatrice Robbins Fletcher and was the wife of the late William S. Lawrence, who died in 2005. She was a graduate of Ayer High School, Class of 1932 and later attended the Convalescent Home for Children in Wellesley MA. For many years she worked in homes of families after a birth and helped with the newborn child.

She was married to William Lawrence on May 29th, 1939. They lived in Groton in a log cabin they build on Sandy Pond Road from 1939 until 1977. From 1975 until 1999, they spent winters in Florida. In September of 2006, Olive moved to Nashoba Park Assisted Living. There she enjoyed many activities, especially bingo. In 2008, she moved to Apple Valley Center and in 2010 returned to Nashoba Park.

She is survived by three sons, W. Ronald and his wife Ann Lawrence of Ayer; Robin Lawrence and his friend Laurie Manley of West Groton; and Dan Lawrence of Groton; five grandchildren, Rhonda Piper of Ashby, MA; Bonnie Magdelain of Tigard, OR; Wendy Lawrence of Shirley MA; Jody Ellis of Townsend, MA; and Casey Lawrence of Townsend, MA. She is also survived by fire great-grandchildren, Haleigh and Braden Magdelain of Tigar OR; Zakkary Piper of Ashby, MA; and Miles and Macie Ellis of Townsend, MA. She is also survived by sister Helen Trimper of Groton.

A private burial will be held in Groton Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
