Modal testing at the Baseball Research Center

Two Groton-Dunstable school support organizations are offering fun programs for Middle School students (Grades 5-8) on the next curriculum half-day, Thursday, March 14.

The Groton Dunstable Education Foundation offers its 2nd annual Kids’ Trivia contest, in which teams of four students compete against their classmates for fun prizes. Registration is just $10 and benefits GDEF enrichment grants to the Middle School and others in the district. More information is available, along with a registration form that can be downloaded and printed from http://www.gdefinc.org/Apps%20and%20Forms/KidsTriviaFlyer2013.pdf and should be returned to either MS office.

GDSTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) is planning a field trip to UMass Lowell’s Baseball Research Center, where students can explore the physics and engineering of “America’s Pastime” through interactive demonstrations of baseball testing equipment. This is a unique opportunity, as the center isn’t open to the general public.

Visit http://www.gdstem.org to sign up online. The $30 fee includes chaperoned bus transportation, and profits benefit STEM projects in the school district.
