Congratulations to Nate Pomeroy and Kailyn Rekos. They have committed to continuing their soccer careers next season at the college level. Nate will attend Brown in the fall and Kailyn is enrolling at Delaware. Well deserved and we wish you luck.
Congratulations to the boys and girls of the Tyngsboro/GDRHS Swim team on a fantastic season. The swimming and diving championships were held last Saturday and both the team and individual swimmers and divers fared very well.
Sara Francisco finished 12th out of more than 30 swimmers in the 200 IM, and she finished 7th in the 500 yard freestyle. Johanna Fischi, Sarah Rasmussen, and Renee Bonnett all performed well in the 50 yard freestyle. Caleigh Dion finished in the top 10 in both the 100 yard butterfly and the 100 yard freestyle. Johanna Fischi also performed well in the 100 yard freestyle finishing 14th out of more than 30 swimmers. As a team they finished 2nd in the 200 yard freestyle and 9th in the 400 yard freestyle relay. Lastly, Renee Bonnett finished 11th in the 100 yard breaststroke.
Enjoy a fun night out close to home while helping to raise funds for our schools! Join the Groton-Dunstable Education Foundation as their popular Trivia Night series returns to the Main Street Cafe, Groton, for two more Saturdays this winter: February 9 and March 9. Dinner service begins at 6:00 p.m. followed by team trivia at 7:00 p.m. Last month was nearly a sell out, so arrive early to be ensured a spot. Bring some friends to form a team of four to five, or find a group when you arrive. Tickets are just $10 at the door and proceeds help fund this spring’s enrichment grants to all GDRSD schools.
