A 20-year old man was killed around 3:00 a.m. Thursday morning in a motor vehicle accident near 52 Island Road in Groton.
Groton Fire Chief Joseph Bosselait confirmed that the initial 911 call came in around 3:00 a.m. The Groton Fire Department’s Rescue truck and an ambulance responded and were joined at the scene by Westford’s Advanced Life Support unit. The man was transported to Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
Groton Police Chief Donald Palma wrote in a press release at noon: “On Thursday, December 27, 2012 at approximately 3:15 a.m. Groton Police Officers were dispatched to Island Road for a single car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, Groton Officers found a male party pinned beneath a black Kia sedan.
The male subject, identified as Vincent McCullough, 20, of Port Wentworth, Georgia, was extricated by the Groton and Westford Fire Departments. Mr. McCullough was transported to Nashoba Valley Medical Center by Groton EMS where he expired due to his injuries. This incident is being investigated by the Groton Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.”
