The Groton Lions are holding their annual birdseed sale tomorrow, November 3rd, but Hurricane Sandy is causing a problem — lots of people may be forsaking their weekend errands to discuss and vote on whether to go ahead with the planned Central Fire Station at the second session of Fall Town Meeting in a rare Saturday session triggered by the storm blowing through town on Monday, when the session was originally scheduled.

Happily, the sale will be open at 8:00 a.m. (until 2:00 p.m.) and Town Meeting doesn’t begin until 9:00 a.m.

The Lions are selling “ultra-clean black oil sunflower, songmaker, striped sunflower, corn and thistle,” according to an email message, and purchasing some will help keep birds happy and support the Groton Lions scholarship fund and eye research in Massachusetts.
