Entries from the 2011 Great Pumpkin Carving Contest
We’re kicking off the 2012 Halloween season with our second Great Pumpkin Carving Contest. Because we’re a virtual community, you can enter your prize jack ‘o lantern by submitting one or more photos. Prizes have generously been donated by some of our favorite Groton businesses.
Deadline for submission of entries is 11:59 p.m. on October 31, 2012.
What do you need to do?
- Find a fabulous local pumpkin
- Turn it into a jack o’lantern
- Snap a picture or two or three
- Fill out your online entry form and attach up to three pictures
Prizes will be awarded for “Scariest” and “Most Creative” in three age groups.
- Carvers under 10 (for younger carvers, we expect parents to supervise and assist with the carving by handling the sharp tools, but the creative work should be the kid’s)
- Ages 11-17, working without parental help.
- And 18 and up.
