5K Runners Take Off At The 2011 Octoberfest
There’s still time to register for GDEF’s 3rd annual Octoberfest 5K – Road Race, Walk & Kids Run that will hit the ground running on Sunday, October 14, from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Larter Field, Groton Street, Dunstable. The 5K Walk starts at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Road Race at 9 a.m. and grade level races for K-6 students beginning at 10:30 a.m. There’s fun for the entire family, from live music and food from the Main Street Café, to a free raffle for registrants, and pumpkin painting and cow cart rides for the kids. And it’s a great way for you to get fit while helping our local public schools, organizer Janet Sheffield wrote in a press release. The long range forecast is for a moderate day with a high in the mid-60s in the afternoon, and a chance of showers.
Register online at www.gdefinc.org before 1 p.m. on Saturday or in-person during early packet pick up at Main Street Café on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Race day registration and packet pick-up are available at Larter Field on Sunday from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. for the 5K, and from 10-11 a.m. for the Kids Run. Please be advised course roads around Larter will be closed between 8:30 and 10 a.m., but there’s plenty of free onsite parking.
