Groton Town Clerk Michael Bouchard has announced that absentee ballot applications for the Tuesday, November 6, 2012 Presidential Election are available at the Town Clerk’s Office and also that the registration deadline for new voters to vote in that election is October 17 at 8:00 p.m.

He wrote in a press release: “We are accepting applications for absentee ballots. Ballots will be mailed once received by the Town Michael Bouchard from the Commonwealth. Monday, November 5 at noon is the last day and hour to request an absentee ballot. All absentee ballots must be received by the Town Clerk by election day in order for us to count them.

Massachusetts allows voters to vote by absentee ballot if they:

  • have a physical disability that prevents your voting at the polling place and/or
  • cannot vote at the polls due to religious beliefs.
