The driver of the pickup was also not identified and was transported to Lowell General Hospital; the two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Deputy Chief Matthew J. King of the Littleton Police Department. A spokesman for the Massachusetts State Police confirmed that Littleton had requested the state’s collision reconstruction team and a crime scene crew for photography of the crash. The Groton Police Department had no information other than a request to shut down 119 at the Four Corners intersection; the highway was blocked until noon, when the department of transportation declared it “open.”

Fatal accident location on 119 just west of Gilson Road
The state police collision reconstruction team had marked tire tracks going off the right side of the road on a gentle curve at the Gilson Road intersection and continuing off the road to the utility pole. The pole was sliiced into three pieces by the impact leaving the upper portion hanging by electric lines. The truck came to rest turned almost 180 degrees to point back the way it had come.
