Looking for a quality music education program for your family? Do you have a young child or teen who loves music (but you’re not sure where to begin)? Are you an adult interested in starting or going back to music lessons? Come learn all about private lessons, group classes, ensembles, and performance programs at Indian Hill Music School’s annual Open House: Saturday, September 8 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at 36 King Street (left off Rte. 495/Exit 30) in Littleton. Participate in musical activities for all ages, including an instrument ‘petting zoo,’ class demonstrations, and opportunities to meet and talk to our faculty. Fall registrations will also be accepted during the Open House.

“Our fall Open House event is a great way to experience our music education programs first-hand,” says Michael Havay, Indian Hill Music School Director of Education. Students young and old can get the feel of a particular instrument at ongoing demonstrations for brass, piano, percussion, strings, winds, guitar, and voice. Families with young children can participate in family music-making activities including songs, circle dances, and playing simple percussion instruments. You can also speak directly to staff and faculty members to get answers to questions about private and group lesson experiences.

Indian Hill Music School offers a quality learning experience with added benefits, such as instruction by caring music educators, personalized placement process, convenient payment plans, modern facility with 21 private music studios, a 200-seat recital hall, plus discounts on our professional concert series. Private instruction is provided on most instruments and voice by our faculty of over 70 conservatory-trained artist/educators. Group lessons and ensembles are offered for beginning to advanced players of all ages. Our Early Childhood Music Program (for newborns thru age 7) features Kindermusik®, Eurhythmics® and drumming classes designed to stimulate a child’s musical development through imaginative music, movement, and arts activities. Lesson Enhancement programs include Piano Performance Workshops, the Alexander Technique, and performance opportunities for all ages.

Fall Term program highlights include: Group experiences for children in beginning violin and piano, Youth Choirs for ages 8 through high school, programs designed just for adult learners, Jazz Standards Band, and Irish Traditional & Folk music. Our popular Instrument Discovery Series for kids in grades 1-4 and offers a hands-on experience with the major instrument families, and parents receive valuable information about lessons, instrument costs, and choosing the right instrument for their child. And, our new Music Therapy program for adolescents and adults with cognitive, physical and developmental impairments uses instrumental and vocal music strategies to improve functioning and/or facilitates changes that contribute to life quality.
