The Groton-Dunstable Regional High School Chamber Chorus capped a year of preparation and fund raising by boarding a bus at the high school this afternoon for the first leg of its Olympic trip to the London games. A Groton Police escort took the bus to the town limits, where state police took over and shepherded the group to Logan Airport for its overseas flight.
The chorus will be in London for a week, sightseeing and making its unique brand of music at different Olympic and London venues. Tomorrow, the trip starts off with sightseeing in London — Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Piccadilly Circus, and Trafalgar Square are on the itinerary. Friday it’s Stonehenge, and the first of many performances. The full schedule is available on the group’s web site, and each day’s activities will be listed in the Community Calendar on the front page of The Groton Line.
