Dr. Stephany Godfrey
Dr. Godfrey, a Captain in the United States Air Force, earned her medical degree from New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. She joins Steward Medical Group from Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts where she served as a family physician. In this role she provided outpatient primary care to 1,500 patients and augmented primary care services with osteopathic manipulative medicine.
While deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Dr. Godfrey held the title of Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force Deputy Surgeon at Balad Air Force Base in Iraq; Dr. Godfrey provided outpatient primary care, with a focus on orthopedic injuries and infections, to deployed service members. She also provided humanitarian care to remote Iraqi families. In May of 2012, Dr. Godfrey was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal from the United States Army.
“My family and I are ready to settle down and establish roots, and I am thrilled to join Nashoba Family Medicine,” said Godfrey. “I encourage my patients to take an active and engaged role in their healthcare. I feel that a partnership between patients and providers is essential.”
Dr. Godfrey has been recognized for outstanding achievement in osteopathic principles and practice, and she is board certified from the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. “We are thrilled to have Dr. Godfrey join our medical staff,” Steve Roach, President of Nashoba Valley Medical Center, said. “Her extensive experience as a physician and as a Captain in the Air Force is truly impressive, and we are very fortunate to have her in our community delivering world-class health care to our patients.”
