The Groton Golf Association’s 2nd Annual Course Improvement Fund Raiser takes place at Groton Country Club on Saturday, August 18. This event includes a four-person-team scramble-format golf
tournament, followed by dinner and awards. Individual golfers are encouraged to participate; they will be matched with other singles to form four-person teams.
Registration is $90 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, gift items for each participant and dinner. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, plus to winners of the closest-to-the-pin and closest-to-the-line contests for both ladies and men.
All registration forms and payments must be received no later than Saturday, August 11. Forms are available in the Pro Shop at Groton Country Club or by calling (978) 448-2564.
The Groton Golf Association was formed in the Spring of 2011 by a group of enthusiastic golfers whose goal is to enhance all aspects of the golf experience at Groton Country Club, the town’s foremost family-use recreational facility.
Since then, GGA members conducted an annual two-day course clean up; re-measured the course, added new yardage markers on each hole and purchased new benches for most tee boxes. The GGA has been the driving force behind the increased participation at Groton Country Club events.
Sponsorships are available for businesses and individuals who wish to support the Groton Golf Association. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to fund improvements to the golf course.
