Discover this fun family activity and start a backyard bird journal with your children. Birdwatching is a wonderful, easy-to-do activity for families and what better season to start than spring! Learn about our local birds and discover birders’ secrets to spotting, identifying, and enjoying birds that inhabit our fields, forests, wetlands, and rivers. We will use the spectacularly diverse conservation properties known as General Field and Surrenden Farm on Old Ayer Road in Groton for our workshop.
Bring binoculars and field guides if you have them. This program is structured for ages 4-12 years, and backpack babies are welcome. Cost: $6/person or $18/family for NRWA members; $8/person or $24/family for non-members. Pre-registration is required. To register and for directions or more information, please contact Stacey Chilcoat, NRWA River Classroom Director, at (978) 448-0299, or email [email protected]. The NRWA is a non-profit environmental organization that depends on memberships for support.
