You can learn about Restorative Justice and attend a pot-luck breakfast on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 16, at 9 a.m. at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church to commemorate this important man.
Patrick Parker-Roach will be the guest speaker. Pat is specially trained in Restorative Justice, and has recently been working with the Massachusetts Department of Corrections. Pat is currently leading a special project for the Commissioner of Corrections to engage the citizens of Dorchester in the successful reentry of returning prisoners back into their community. If successful, this effort will be the model for similar initiatives in the handful of other zip codes in the Commonwealth where the majority of prisoners come from and eventually return. He has been leadership trainer around the US as a faculty member of the Department of Justice’s National Institute of Corrections.
The program and breakfast are free and all are welcome.
