The Groton Interfaith Council’s Christmas Tree lighting ceremony attracted about 75 residents for a music-filled Sunday afternoon that heralded the Yule season with multi-colored lights when enowned conservationist Marion Stoddart flipped the switch that illuminated the tall fir tree on the common at Pleasant and Main Streets.
The Rev. Giuseppe Mattei of the Shepherd of the Valley Church, Rev. Elea Kemler of the First Parish Church, Rev. Gail Miller of the Union Congregational Church, and Rev. Beth Humphrey of The Groton School offered prayers and readings interspersed with carols performed by the Council’s brass ensemble and the voices of the audience.Related
