Grace Wynne Gagnon, 27, of Townsend, died on October 24 in a car accident.
Born in Nashua on November 1, 1983, she graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School in 2001 and attended Fordham University, where she joined the Army ROTC program and was awarded the honor of New York City Cadet of the Year two years in a row. A devoted yogi, Grace studied yoga at the Kripalu Center in Lenox, MA, where she became a certified instructor, and continued practicing and teaching for many years. She was most recently working on a nursing degree at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
She leaves behind her daughter Ava, age 4, who survived the crash; her parents Rhonda Sullivan and Joseph R. Gagnon Jr. of Townsend; her brothers Nathan Gagnon of Worcester and David Gagnon of Townsend; and her sisters Sarah Gagnon of San Francisco, CA and Sybil Harrington of Holly Springs, NC.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather Joseph R. Gagnon I and is survived by her paternal grandmother Hectorine Gagnon of Peterborough, NH; maternal grandparents Virginia and Richard Sullivan of Townsend; her fiance Alan Ackerman of Groton; and beloved friend Nancy Shea of Amherst, NH.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, November 1 at the Badger Funeral Home, 45 School St., Groton from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be a a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John’s Catholic Church in Townsend on Wednesday, November 2 at 10 a.m.
