Ruth (Bowmar) (Badger) Perkins, 83, died suddenly on Thursday July 14, 2011 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer.

She was the wife of the late Charles A. Perkins who died October 10, 2007 after 21 years of marriage. She was previously married to the late William A. Badger with whom she co-founded and played an active role in the Badger Funeral Home in Littleton, MA. She was born in Groton on May 17, 1928 daughter of the late Ralph and Angie (Hall) Bowmar. She grew up in West Groton and was a graduate of Groton High School, a member of the class of 1948.

Ruth was a former member of the First Church Unitarian in Littleton, A member of the Alliance and Women”s Club, and The Sixty Plus Club of Harvard. She made her home in Littleton from 1954-1981, then in Harvard, Plymouth, and in Ayer, since 1997, to be near her family.

She will be remembered for her great warmth and friendliness toward others. She loved gardening, decorating her home, and was always was up for a great game of cribbage.

Her survivors include her three sons, David and his wife Barbara (Brown) Badger, of Littleton, Donald and his wife Margaret “Peg” (Jean) Badger of North Chelmsford, Brian Badger and his companion Dawn Gallagher of Groton, and step Daughter Janet and her husband James Thompson of Winchendon; three sisters, Evelyn Sestini of Holliston, Mildred Hathaway of Bellaire, FL, and Helen Cundall of Charlton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jamin Badger of Portland Maine; Colleen Rice of Nashua, NH; Sarah (Badger) Sockol of Littleton; Rachel Badger of Littleton; and seven great-grandchldren. She was predeceased by her grandson, Donald Badger, Jr. who died Nov. 26, 2010 and her brother William D. Bowmar.

Funeral Services will be held at the Badger Funeral Home 347 King St, Littleton on Tuesday July 19 at 10 a.m., visiting hours will be Monday from 3-7 pm. Burial at Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton.
