Robert W. Connally, 66, a resident of Groton, died Wednesday the 18th of May after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Dr. Susan Horowitz Connally, to whom he was married for 36 years.
Born in Cohes, N.Y., November 17, 1944, he was the son of the late William and Eleanor (Dinsmore) Connally. He was raised and educated in Hudson, N.Y. After graduating from Wentworth (Oregon) State University and serving in Vietnam, he was the proprietor of Sleepy Hollow Feline Bed and Breakfast and the manager of Groton Veterinary Hospital.
His great loves were his dog, Doowop, and cats Putter and Pico; anything cat; astrology; astronomy; model trains; photography; reading and traveling.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister and brother in law Jeanne & John Frentino of Claverack, N.Y., their daughters: Rene, Janine, and Michelle, his nieces Vicki and Gary Rothman and Cindy and Brian Kearns and their children.
He will be cremated with a memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Cornell Feline Health Center, College of Veterinary Medicine, Ithaca, N.Y., 14853.

Bob was “Uncle Bob” to two of our cats over the years – they spent many a night in his kitty bed and breakfast. We never had to worry – “Uncle Bob” treated our furry friends as if they were his own. He was a kind, gentle man who will be missed terribly…
